As a private user I have been using PB for along time and am very satisfied with it.
Some time ago I downloaded and installed PB version 2.9.6 on my Vista system, but it would not launch. Trying to launch via start and programs did also not work.
Then I tried to have it working on another PC with Windows7, but he same problem resulted.

The only way I can launch PB is to download and install it each time I need to use it. It will launch when using the last screen of the installation windows and having it launch PB. Of course this is not very efficient to use PB.

Question; what should and can I do to have PB correctly launched.

Friendly greetings.

Strange problem as I can't reproduce it on Windows 7 or Vista. Have you tried to launch the EXE directly from Windows Explorer?

I did try to launch directly from Windows explorer in Vista.
All what happens when clicking double on PBbuilder.exe, is, that the little Vista circle appears, circling half a second and then disappears.
PB is not launched however.

What is different when downloading and installing PB and having that correctly launch PB on the last window of the installationprocess, compared with launching via Windows explorer unsuccesfully?

I also checked if my firewall could be the cause, but that is not the culprit.

Please try the Compatibility wizard (right click on the EXE file in explorer) or maybe a third-party program like an antivirus or antispyware is interfering?

The Compatibility (right click) had no effect, PB still was not launched.

I did recall that my internet provider had changed the firewall, virus checker etc. some time ago, now using F-secure. I therefor went throug all the parts and help of F-secure. It seemed that PB encountered no problems and was admitted to continue the launch for all of them, but PB was still not launched.
Then I saw in the help section of F-secure that the DeepGuard section of F-secure also checks whether a program does an internal integrity check and may change the registry. That appeared to be the problem. I blocked the integrity check and PB would launch as I was used to.

Thank you for the assistance, with friendly greetings.
