Security of .exe file without VBA compilation

Please, how secured is a .exe file created with XLS Padlock when one did not use the VBA Compiler function?

The VBA compiler is optional, it’s just that it provides you with an extra layer of protection especially if you have VBA code, because once compiled, it cannot be restored even if a hacker manages to extract the workbook file from memory.

You are free to use them or not, they are not mandatory. But as always, the more layers of protection you have, the lower the probability that your workbook will be hacked and shared.
