Transform EXE to xlsm

Here is a scenario:

I produce several Excel tools for people and some of them are customized. I transform these tools in EXE then distribute them, disable ribbons and VBA Editor.

What if I need to make a change to the workbook in the future? Can I transform the EXE back to xlsm if I own a password or is the workbook lost forever?

XLS Padlock doesn’t delete your original XLSM files so you can keep them, make backups, etc.

It is also possible to decrypt secure saves back to XLSM files, although protected formulas nor compiled VBA code won’t be recovered. See the user guide about this feature.
