Binary Excel files protecting

I recently bought XLS padlock for hadware protecting (hardwarebased activation code) binary excel files because other providers don’t offer this anymore. I like to know before I am going to distribute files if protection of binary excelfiles in the future wil still be available. Thank you for your answer in advance.

As long as recent versions of Excel support old XLS format, there is no reason why we would stop working with that format.
