Cannot search Chinese characters

I use HE4.6.1 to compile an Chinese eBook.
I have set the Default HTML Charset to UTF-16LE.
Use default word delimiters based on Unicode character categories.

However, I cannot search out Chinese characters (for example:中文) in an Chinese eBook .
If I add asterisks(for example: *中文 *), then I can search out all the Chinese character of (中文) in an Chinese eBook.

What is the default charset of compiled HTML pages?
