HTMLEXE 5 release date

Hi,

I know you have said (since 2017) that you cannot set a release date for HTMLEXE 5. However, can you give us any indication of a timeframe? The last time you spoke about it you said hopefully before summer 2020. After that not a word.

If it doesn’t show up soon, I will have to find an alternative, as I cannot wait any longer. My current projects are useless with the old engine due to how incredibly sluggish it runs.

Yes, but we had several problems (and don’t mention the COVID-19…).

Thank you. Here is a screenshot of the new version coming with Chromium (you can tweak the Chromium engine’s properties). It will be possible to choose which engine you want between Trident (and probably the new Edge/Chromium as we are working on it) and Chromium: [image]

We hope to release it in the beginning of 2021 now, including the new WebView2 webengine released by Microsoft to replace the old Trident engine.
