XLS Padlock error: Error while starting application runtime

A few users get this error when opening their (compiled .xlsc) file:
“Error while starting application runtime”

Any ideas?
Thanks

This error occurs if you use the Universal EXE format and some antivirus such as Crowdstrike may block it. The workaround is to provide a pure 64-bit EXE to your customers. XLS Padlock lets you do so.

Please let us know the current Windows 11 build number of your client. Here are a few simple ways to get it:
  1. Using the winver Command:
  • Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
  • Type winver and press Enter.
  • A window will pop up showing your Windows version and build number.
  1. Through Settings:
  • Open the Settings app (Windows + I).
  • Go to System > About.
  • Under the “Windows specifications” section, you will see the build number.
And is your client running a Mac?

Thank you.

This issue is now fixed:
