We’re excited to announce the release of XLS Padlock 2025.0, a major update that brings significant new features and improvements to help you protect and distribute your Excel workbooks even more efficiently:
- Multilingual User Interface: XLS Padlock now supports multiple languages, making it easier than ever for users around the world to secure and manage their Excel applications.
- Modernized UI: Enjoy a refreshed, more intuitive interface with improved display and no more resizing issues, providing a smoother user experience.
- Enhanced Packaging & Deployment: The new version introduces flexible packaging and loading options, giving you greater control over how your protected workbooks are distributed to your users. To minimize antivirus false positives with non-signed EXE files, we modified the executable format made by XLS Padlock and we also now use the robust 7z compression (same as 7-Zip) to make smaller EXE files without relying on UPX anymore.
- Stronger Security: XLS Padlock 2025.0 further reinforces workbook protection with updated security mechanisms and enhanced code signing. It’s now possible to use modern and cheaper cloud-based code signing certificates in XLS Padlock 2025. For instance, we introduced built-in support for Microsoft Azure Trusted Signing. For less than 10 USD per month, you can digitally sign your EXE files automatically with a certificate provided and supported by Microsoft.
- Performance & Reliability: Numerous tweaks and fixes ensure better stability and efficiency for both new and existing projects.
